Thank You Lord

It’s another of those mornings. I’m distracted.

Putting aside the Chase I’ve been on for an hour plus, I carry my phone, plug in earphones and play some India.Arie.

It’s not working. Her usually-calming vocals further rattle my nerves.

I stop the music and start up my laptop. Some writing always works wonders –

But not today. Not now. Maybe I can turn the lines I just punched into a story later. For now however, they look a lot like gibberish.

So let’s work out. I start to do sit ups – omo, this chesty cough wan kill me.

So I open the window, stick my head out, inhale the morning air and whisper; “thank you Lord”.

Man. I can’t tell you how grateful I am to be alive.
